BABIES: DIY Superhero Onesie

This simple superhero onesie costume by Ann Marie of White House Black Shutters is adorable. You only need a plain white onesie and a few basic supplies like cardboard, spray paint, and a tshirt to make this entire costume. You could make a whole family of superheros or just dress up the baby.

GROUPS: Monster Family Costume

It’s hard to believe that it’s already September! All of a sudden it starts to feel like fall, and in my house at least, my kids start brainstorming ideas for Halloween costumes. Sometimes I think that planning what you’re going to wear is half of the fun! We’ve never done a coordinated family costume, but I just love the idea. I especially love it when the baby of the family matches everyone else. Plus kids get a kick out of it when their parents dress up too.

Well how adorable is this monster family costume by Tell Love and Chocolate? The whole family includes: Frankenstein, the Bride of Frankenstein, an adorable little mummy, and a cute baby bat. You can check out all of the details and tutorials of each of these costumes, plus helpful links to some make-up and face painting videos.

KIDS: Easy Lion Costume

Not only is this lion costume by A Night Owl Blog ridiculously adorable, it’s also super easy to make. There is absolutely no sewing required, and all you really need is yarn and scissors to make the mane. Then just add on a nose ans whiskers with brown eye liner or face paint, and pair it with a yellow tshirt and jeans.

All you really need to know how to do is to make pom poms out of yarn. This lion costume would be perfect for Halloween, or a special costume party, but it’s also so cute and simple it would be a fun craft to make and to add to your kid’s costume collection for fun and creative dress-up play.

BABY: Cow Costume with an Udder

There’s something so adorable about a baby in a costume. I especially love DIY costumes that are made with a onesie. This cow costume by Make It & Love It is just perfect. The cow onesie is really simple and easy to make, and you could definitely make it without a sewing machine or sewing at all. The fleece hat is slightly more complicated, but it is easier than you might think with a free pattern. Even if you don’t have a sewing machine, you could hand stitch this little hat pretty quickly. And of course the UDDER is the cutest and most hilarious part of all.

BABY: Crochet Bunny Ears

These crochet bunny ears are just about the cutest things ever! Pikadilly Charm shares a great tutorial, along with a free pattern. I especially love the floppy bunny ears. This would be a perfect craft to make for a special baby for Easter (or any occasion. Animal ears on babies are the best!) You could also play around with different colors of yarn. This white and pink combo is perfect, but I would also love one in shades of gray.

KIDS: Duct Tape Wings Costume

I love seeing amazing and elaborate things that people make out of duct tape! These duct tape wings by Doodlecraft are no exception. These wings are made mostly out of plain white duct tape and would be perfect for a Cupid costume for Valentine’s day. You could also use these wings as a part of an Angel costume, or another winged creature. To create these wings you will need white duct tape, foam board, wooden sticks, a hot glue gun, scissors, and elastic. You could also pair them with a set of handmade bow and arrows.

BABIES: Conversation Heart Onesie

This simple DIY costume idea by Madigan Made is just the cutest! It would make a great costume for your baby for Halloween, but it would also be perfect for dressing up your cute little one around Valentine’s Day. You can use a onesie you already have and attach a felt heart (maybe even use the heart to cover up a little stain). The hardest part would be choosing what phrase to put on your conversation heart.
